The Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Applied Arts taught by Escola Massana and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) brings together the esteemed experience in training illustrators from the Escola Massana Centre d’Art i Disseny de Barcelona, offering a program that enhances the educational offerings of the specialty at the center.

With a similar approach rooted in creative thinking, and within the school’s excellent craft workshops and well-equipped classrooms for both manual and digital work, students will collaborate with a teaching team comprised of respected artists and professionals in illustration and visual storytelling. With them, students will learn about the principles of visual rethoric, the basics of narrative imagery, and the latest project methodologies.

The program will also offer workshops dedicated to the fundamental principles of editorial illustration taught by prominent specialized authors. Additionally, the expressive and professional possibilities of illustration will be expanded beyond traditional approaches, exploring the use of techniques such as printing and fire arts in the creation of serialized editions on paper and three-dimensional objects, as well as the principles of motion imagery and authorial animation.
